Sometimes God answers my prayers, and I don’t even realize it – or at least I don’t remember that I had asked people to pray for us. The first week of March was like that.
Wonderful Blacknall Memorial Presbyterian Church in Durham, NC asks us for prayer requests every month. Here’s what I wrote at the end of February:
It’s a busy time for Fraser’s “side job” of developing systems for training translation consultants, with 80 people meeting next week in Dallas. Pray for humility, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and good working agreements among those who will be there.
At home it has been a season of sickness, with colds and flus, and Liz has been off driving for two weeks due to a painful foot condition (Morton’s neuroma, for you medical types). Pray that the Lord will open a way for Liz’s feet to be strong again.
And here is what I wrote at the end of March:
Last month we asked you to “pray for humility, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and good working agreements” at a meeting about best to train new translation consultants. God wondrously answered your prayers!
We asked you to “pray that the Lord will open a way for Liz’s feet to be strong again”, and he did! —through a mad, two-day trip to Portland to consult a podiatrist who has a different approach. Full recovery will be a long process of realignment and strengthening, but Liz can drive again.
The Lord is so merciful to us!
